Board meetings are on the 4th Tuesday of the month at the KIXE meeting room, 630 N.
Market St., Redding, 7:00 pm.
Animal Care Committee (ACC) Meeting
ACC meetings are on the 2nd Monday of the month at the Anderson Fire Department, 1925
Howard St., Anderson, 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Discussions of animal care and training take
place at every meeting. Also, volunteer training is conducted.
NOTE: no ACC meeting in December.
Volunteer Picnic - 2008
A picnic is held annually before the fall season for our volunteers who work a full summer
season at the center.
Salmon Festival - October 18, 2008
Shasta Wildlife maintains a booth at the Coleman Fish Hatchery Salmon Festival every year.
Educational animals are on display and volunteers are available to answer your questions.
The festival is held every year on the third Saturday in October. For more information see the

This beautiful children's quilt was made by one of our volunteers for the 2007 Salmon Festival. Raffle tickets were sold.

Volunteer Fair - January 25, 2008
The Volunteer Fair is where all volunteer groups in our area can get known to the public.
SWRR will have a booth there.

Rockt Point Charter School Book Celebration - April 5, 2008
Time: 1:00 pm
Place: Barnes & Noble Bookstore, Redding
A book written by the students in K-1 about birds will be celebrated. All proceeds will be
donated to Shasta Wildlife Rescue.
"RUN 4 THE WILD" Fund Raiser - April 5, 2008
The annual "Run For the Wild" event is held the first Saturday in April every year at Anderson
River Park. It's a 6-mile Run and a 2-Mile Rabbit Run at 8:30 am. Then a Hatchling Quarter
Mile Run (for preschoolers through 5th grade) at 10:00 am.
The Run goes through beautiful Anderson River Park, right along the Sacramento River.
People are encouraged to dress in costume in their favorite native California animal. There
will also be a two mile Walk/Rabbit-Run and a 1/4 mile Hatchling Run for children up to the
fifth grade.

Printed registration forms will be available at Fleet Feet in Redding and the Redding Record
Searchlight.

Open House and Baby Shower - April 5, 2008
Directly following the "Run for the Wild" is Shasta Wildlife Rescue's "Open House and Baby
Shower". Every year before the babies start to come to the center we are open, on this day
only, to the General Public. Tours of the facility are given and you can get up close and
personal with the Educational Animals during this time. Visitors are encouraged to bring a
Baby Shower gift of paper towels, toilet paper, heating pads, food, etc. to help defray the cost
of running the center during the year.

Love Your Pet Expo - April 5, 2008
Shasta Wildlife participated in the "Love Your Pet Expo" at the Shasta County Fairgrounds in
2007. We maintained a booth there with "Ed" animals and staff to answer questions. Plans
