Love Your Pet Expo - April 14, 2007
Shasta Wildlife participated in the Love Your Pet Expo at the Shasta County Fairgrounds in 2007. We

Volunteer Fair - January 25, 2008
The Volunteer Fair is where all volunteer groups in our area can get known to the public. SWRR maintained a

Rocky Point Charter School Book Celebration - April 5, 2008
PLACE: Barnes & Noble Bookstore, Redding
A book about birds, written by the students in Rocky Point Charter School's K-1 class, was celebrated. All
proceeds were donated to Shasta Wildlife Rescue.
SWRR On TV - January thru June, 2008
The Redding Community Access Channel 11 program on Shasta Wildlife Rescue was shown at various times in
2008.
Redding Whole Earth Festival - April 25, 2009

1st Annual Mountain Animal and Art Faire - August 22, 2009
Time: 10:00 am to 6:00 pm (SWRR booth until 4:00 pm)
Location: Camp McCumber, Shingletown
Sponsored by: R.A.I.N. (Rescued Animals in Need)
There was lots of booths, animal demonstrations, wine tasting and other exhibits including a booth staffed by

Class, California Department of Fish and Game, Continuing Education Series - August 31, 2009
Time: 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Place: Anderson Fire Station (see ACC meeting section below for directions)
The lecture was presented by Susan Howell of the Wildlife Education Rehabilitation Center in Morgan Hill along
with two of her employees including Dorothy Johnson, Animal Curator of the Youth Science Institute of San
Jose. Topics of discussion were acorn woodpeckers, sanitation in a rehab setting and bobcat protocol for other
mammals, with an open question and answer session following.
KIXE TV-9 Nature Program - October 18, 2009
Time: 7:30 pm
North state public television station KIXE TV-9 assembled its biggest production team ever, the viewers from its
10-county coverage area, and sent them out on assignment. The goal: produce video footage of wildlife and the
natural settings it enjoys in our region. It’s “Nature: Caught in the Act,” a new festival that matches emerging
video technology with the abundant outdoor opportunities in the north state. KIXE is partnering with the Turtle
Bay Exploration Park in Redding, the Chico Creek Nature Center in Butte County, the Sacramento Discovery
Center Museum in Red Bluff, and Shasta Wildlife Rescue. For more information click here.

CCWR North Country Rehabilitators' Conference - May 8-9, 2010
Location: Turtle Bay Exploration Park
Two days of workshops, round tables and presentations feature topics by Northern California specialists in
songbirds and mammal care. Hands-on labs in wound treatment and fluid therapy are facilitated by wildlife

Dine & Donate Fundraiser

During this fundraiser Mary's Pizza Shack will donate 20% of your purchase to Shasta Wildlife Rescue when you
present the flyer with your purchase. This is a great way to support SWRR while enjoying Mary's pizzas, pastas
and salads. This program is good for dine-in, take-out, delivery or gift card purchases. SWRR would like to
thank Mary's Pizza Shack for putting on this fundraiser for us.
I am proud to tell you all that our Dine & Donate fund raising event went very well. Our totals were $790.65 in
revenue X 20% = $158.13 for SWRR.

Coleman Fish Hatchery Salmon Festival - October 16, 2010
Shasta Wildlife maintains a booth at the Coleman Fish Hatchery Salmon Festival every year. Our Ed Animals will
be on display and volunteers will be available to answer your questions. The Salmon Festival is held every year

Diaperpalooza - May 20, 2011
Time: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Location: Market Street Promenade Downtown Mall
We will have a booth/table set up at this AmeriCorps event sponsored by the Child Abuse Prevention
Coordinating Council. We will offer information about membership and volunteering for Shasta
Wildlife Rescue. There will be an interactive feature for the children with pages of wildlife that the children can
color.
Anderson Chamber of Commerce Business Expo - May 25, 2011

This is the 2nd annual Anderson Chamber of Commerce Business Expo. Shasta Wildlife Rescue will be displaying

Coleman Fish Hatchery Salmon Festival - October 15, 2011
Shasta Wildlife maintains a booth at the Salmon Festival every year. Our Ed Animals will not be on display this
year but volunteers will be available to answer your questions. The Salmon Festival is held every year on the 3rd

Close Up Encounters with Birds of Prey - October 5, 2008
Shasta Wildlife Rescue showed birds of prey and provided information about them. Location was the HCCP
parking area on Clear Creek Road, about seven miles west of Highway 273. For more information see News

Educational Animals Handling Protocols
Date: August 29, 2011
Time: 6:00 pm
Location: The grassy area across the road from the Center in Anderson River Park
This class is geared to the Educational group but is open to everyone that needs Continuing Education class
credit that's required for all volunteers every year. For anyone considering becoming an Ed animal primary
and/or secondary handler, this would be the class to attend also.
Please bring a chair/lawn chair with you. We'll have handouts with the protocols so you'll have paper to make
notes on. The class will be approximately 2 hrs. in length.
There's a sign up sheet at the Center for you to add your name too or if you're not at the Center on a regular
basis and want to come, just email me back and I'll make sure you get added to the list.
New Volunteer Training Class

Place: Anderson City Hall
This class is mandatory for all new volunteers. There is a $10.00 fee for the class in addition to your first year
