14th Annual “Run for the Wild” Fund Raiser - 2014 Run For the Wild Date: April 5, 2014 Time: 8:30 am Event Description This event is held the first Saturday in April every year. The Run goes through beautiful Anderson River Park, right along the Sacramento River. For directions and maps to the Park and the SWRR Facility see our Directions and Maps web page. For more information read the Redding Record Searchlight news story. At 8:30 am there is a 2-Mile Rabbit Run/Walk and also a 5-mile Run. This year the 5 mile Run is a single lap around the park. At 10:00 am there is a Hatchling Quarter Mile Run (for preschoolers through 5th grade). Registration Form The printed 2015 Run for the Wild brochure will be available at Fleet Feet Sports and other local fitness centers. The brochure contains a registration form and information on the event. Or you can download the Run for the Wild brochure and registration form (not available yet for 2015). Registration and other information will also be available on the SWEAT Running Club website. To download this banner click here (pdf file, 118 kB) Family Fun Fest and Kids Fishing Day In 2014 we are excited to hold our event in conjunction with the FAMILY FUN FEST organized by the City of Anderson Recreation Department and the Anderson Partnership for Healthy Children. Also on the same day is the KIDS FISHING DAY organized by the local division of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. The focus of these events will be on healthy physical activities. Our Run for the Wild sponsors will receive sponsorship publicity covering all 3 events. For more information on these events click here and here.  To download this 2014 poster click here (pdf file, 864 kB) Open House, Facility Tours and Baby Bird Shower Time: 10:00 am to 1:00 pm (after the Run is over) Location: SWRR facility, 3752 Rupert Road Map: Google Map to our facility Every year before the rescues start to come to the center, we are open on this day only, to the general public. Tours of the facility are given and you can get up close and personal with the Ed Animals during this event. To see some photos of the 2014 Open House click here. Visitors are encouraged to bring a Baby Bird Shower gift of paper towels, toilet paper, heating pads, food, etc. to help defray the cost of running the center during the year.
