“Run for the Wild” Fund Raiser - Canceled Run For the Wild SWRR regrets to inform our past participants that the the annual Run for the Wild has been canceled for 2015 and beyond. We would like to thank everyone for their support in all of our previous races. The annual Open House, Facility Tours and Baby Bird Shower that was held in conjunction with the “Run” will continue to take place as it has in past years. For more information on this event please see our new Open House web page. Description of the Run in 2014 and in the Years Past This event was held the first Saturday in April every year. The Run went through beautiful Anderson River Park, right along the Sacramento River. For directions and maps to the Park and the SWRR Facility see our Directions and Maps web page. For more information read the Redding Record Searchlight news story. At 8:30 am there was the 2-Mile Rabbit Run/Walk and also a 5-mile Run. The 5 mile Run is a single lap around the park. At 10:00 am there was a Hatchling Quarter Mile Run (for preschoolers through 5th grade). To download this banner click here (pdf file, 118 kB) Family Fun Fest and Kids Fishing Day - 2014 In 2014 we were excited to hold our event in conjunction with the FAMILY FUN FEST organized by the City of Anderson Recreation Department and the Anderson Partnership for Healthy Children. Also on the same day was the KIDS FISHING DAY organized by the local division of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. The focus of these events was on healthy physical activities. Our Run for the Wild sponsors received sponsorship publicity covering all 3 events.
